Woo is a Throwback- Player Commentary- April 20, 2026

Bryan Woo– P- SEA- Hot- Woo picked up his first win of 2026 by allowing 2 runs on 4 hits and a walk while striking out 6 in 7 IP. His ERA and FIP are identical at 2.25. Woo had lost 2 games due to non-support. He has quality starts in 4 of his 5 outings and in the other one he allowed 3 runs (1 earned) in 5 IP. Woo has been extremely efficient. He threw 85 pitches yesterday and thrown more than 87 once this season. Of his 430 pitches this year 287 has been strikes. That’s the kind of thing that yields durability.

Brad Keller– RP- PHI- Rise Value- Keller has been named the closer while Jhoan Duran is on the IL. At this point, it is a theoretical designation. The Phillies have a 5-game losing streak so there hasn’t been much need for a closer. Keller pitched Saturday but it was not a save situation. He has 5 career saves, with 3 of them coming last year. Keller’s 4.15 ERA is a result mainly from his April 1 outing where he allowed 3 runs in his inning of work. He has only given up 1 run in his other 7.2 IP. In order for Keller to have value the Phillies need to step up their offense and produce save situations. This week they will be traveling to Wrigley Field and then to Atlanta to face the Braves, who just swept them this weekend.

Brandon Pfaadt– P- ARI- Drop Value- Pfaadt was removed from the Arizona rotation with a 5.94 ERA when Merrill Kelly came off the IL. He made his first relief appearance yesterday. If it had been a start it would have been a quality one. Pfaadt allowed 1 run on 4 hits and 2 walks while striking out 3 in 6.1 IP. He ate up innings after the Diamondbacks fell behind early 9-1 after 3 innings. Pfaadt did an excellent job in what he was called on to do but it may not do much to earn him a slot back in the rotation. Someone else will have to fail to get him out of the long relief role. Lessening the burden of the bullpen isn’t a fantasy category.

Noah Schultz– P- CHW- Rookie- Schultz made his second MLB start yesterday and looked much more like the high prospect that the White Sox were expecting. He earned his first MLB victory by allowing one hit and run on a solo homer while walking one and striking out 6 in 5 IP. This was in the hitter friendly atmosphere of Sacramento. The A’s scored 3 runs after Schultz left the game, so it wasn’t just a matter of a poor opponent. He was the White Sox #2 prospect and may be ready to stick.

David Peterson– P- NYM- Hot- Manager Carlos Mendoza mixed things up yesterday. Instead of David Peterson starting, he came in as a follower. He started the 3rd inning and gave up a leadoff triple. Peterson got out of the jam with a ground out that didn’t plater the runner followed by a lineout double play to end the inning. He ended up tossing 3.2 scoreless IP with a strikeout and no walks. Peterson’s ERA dropped a run from 6.41 to 5.40 but his FIP remained essentially flat, going from 3.33 to 3.34. That’s an indication that he has experienced some bad luck and regression will help him.
