The Philadelphia Eagles are expected to be without wide receiver AJ Brown for voluntary offseason workouts, which begin on Monday, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.
A trade is likelier than ever, according to Yahoo Sports’ Charles Robinson, but it’s still unlikely to happen before June 1, due to the salary-cap gymnastics involved.

The New England Patriots, who lack a No. 1 receiver despite signing Romeo Doubs in free agency, are expected to be the frontrunners. The Patriots also have not ruled out bringing in the 28-year-old wide receiver when asked about Brown this offseason. Brown spent his first three seasons with the Tennessee Titans under Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel.
The Brown trade saga began last season when Browns voiced frustration with his role and the offense on multiple social media platforms.
While Eagles general manager Howie Roseman and head coach Nick Sirianni tried to put the fire out by avoiding questions about Brown, their moves suggest a trade could be looming.

This offseason, the Eagles signed wide receiver Hollywood Brown and Elijah Moore, and traded multiple late-round picks for former Green Bay Packers wideout Dontayvion Wicks, giving him a one-year extension. Wicks overlapped with the Eagles’ new offensive coordinator, Sean Mannion, who spent the past two years in Green Bay as an offensive assistant and then quarterbacks coach.
When asked about Brown following Wicks’ acquisition, Roseman reiterated — yet again — that Brown remains an Eagle. “What do you think the odds are that I am answering this question any different than I answered anywhere else?” Roseman said. “50%, 75%? A.J. Brown is an Eagle.”

While none of the acquired talent screams No. 1 receiver, the Packers did not rely on a true No. 1 receiver during Mannion’s time in Green Bay, and the Eagles still have former first-round wideout DeVonta Smith, who has had three seasons with over 1,000 yards. The Eagles also re-signed tight end Dallas Goedert to a one-year deal in March, coming off a career-high 11 receiving touchdowns in the 2025 season.
