Chelsea will hope to bring an end to their recent dismal run of form when they visit Brighton and Hove Albion on Tuesday night.
The Blues have won just one of their last eight matches in the Premier League, and have lost their last four games in the competition without scoring a single goal.
Last time out Liam Rosenior’s side were beaten 1-0 by Manchester United, which could prove to be a damaging result in the race to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
In the meanitme, though, it appears that both Chelsea and Manchester United are well positioned in the race to sign a Premier League midfielder.
According to Sky Sports journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the Blues and the Red Devils are currently leading the scramble to sign Sunderland star Noah Sadiki.
The 21-year-old only joined Sunderland from Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise last summer, but has so far enjoyed a superb debut season in England.

In total the young midfielder has featured 30 times for Regis Le Bris’ side across all competitions, including 28 appearances in the Premier League.
The DR Congo international’s impressive displays for Sunderland have helped Le Bris’ side impress this season, with qualification for a European competition still a possibility for the Black Cats.
Tavolieri claims that the two sides have both identified the midfielder as a possible target to bolster their respective squads this summer, however Man United could be in pole position to sign the player as they almost certain to qualify for next term’s Champions League.
Sadiki signed a long-term contract with the Black Cats when he joined the club last summer, and Sunderland will therefore likely be in a commanding position during any negotiations.
