Shakur Mohammed opens up on emotional moment with Hany Mukhtar after debut MLS goal for Nashville – Ghana Latest Football News, Live Scores, Results

Ghanaian forward Abdul Shakur Mohammed has opened up after scoring his first MLS goal on his debut for Nashville SC.

Mohammed broke down in tears while celebrating his goal as Nashville travelled to Georgia to beat Atlanta United 2-0 on matchday 8 of the MLS.

The Right to Dream Academy graduate confidently slotted home from an exquisite Hany Mukhtar assist.

Explaining the moment he burst into tears, Mohammed disclosed that Mukhtar had predicted he will be making an impact in the game.

“It’s amazing, especially because the assist came from Hany (Mukhtar),” he told SixOneFive Soccer. “Ever since I stepped foot in Nashville, he has been like a big brother figure for me.

“Hany’s been unbelievable to me in many ways that I cannot explain now. And leading up to the game, when we were going up for warmup, he told me, ‘I feel like you are going to come in and make an impact.’ And it happened.”

Mohammed moved to Nashville in January and joined the reserve side Huntsville City, where he netted three goals in three games, earning him a place in the senior team.
