Kenny Omega Reacts After Jade Cargill Uses One Winged Angel At WrestleMania 42

Kenny Omega has finally responded after Jade Cargill pulled out his signature move during WrestleMania 42, and he made it clear he’s not upset about it.

During WrestleMania 42 Sunday, Rhea Ripley defeated Jade Cargill to capture the WWE Women’s Championship in a physical showdown that featured one moment fans immediately picked up on. Late in the match, Cargill delivered Omega’s famous One Winged Angel, though commentary referred to it as the “Sandstorm.” Ripley ultimately kicked out, but the move quickly spread across social media as fans debated the moment.

Omega addressed the situation the following day on X, offering a calm response while acknowledging the WrestleMania moment without directly calling out Cargill or WWE by name. After seeing the move used on WWE’s biggest stage, Omega made it clear he viewed the situation as respect rather than disrespect.

“When I see the moves I do elsewhere, I only take it as a compliment. If somehow I inspired people to use them, I can only be grateful.”

He also pointed out that seeing his signature move used at WrestleMania itself stood out to him as a notable moment.

“Besides, seeing the OWA on the WM ring was kinda neat, right? It’s all good with me.”

The moment added to an already intense WrestleMania title match. Rhea Ripley managed to survive the move, which has historically been one of the most protected finishers in wrestling, before eventually securing the victory to win the WWE Women’s Championship.

Omega’s reaction helped cool down any potential controversy, especially since fans immediately noticed the move and began debating whether it was appropriate to use one of the most recognizable finishers outside WWE.

Do you think Jade Cargill using the One Winged Angel at WrestleMania was a tribute, or should certain finishers stay exclusive to the wrestlers who made them famous? Let us know what you think.
