Hannah Green Owns LA Again With Stunning LPGA Comeback Win

Hannah Green produced another trademark late charge to secure a dramatic LPGA Tour victory in Los Angeles, reinforcing her status as one of the game’s most reliable closers.

Hannah Green has turned Los Angeles into one of her favourite stops on the LPGA Tour, and the West Australian added another chapter to that story with a thrilling win at the JM Eagle LA Championship. In a finish that showcased both nerve and belief, Green stormed home from well off the pace before sealing victory in a sudden‑death playoff to claim her third title at the event in just four years.

The final round did not begin with any sense of inevitability. Green found herself sliding down the leaderboard early, and when Sei Young Kim chipped in for eagle on the 11th hole, the Australian suddenly trailed by six shots. Rather than forcing the issue, Green stuck to her plan and trusted that opportunities would come.

“I honestly didn’t think I was still in the tournament,” Green admitted afterwards. “I was just like, ‘Oh well, go for as many pins as possible,’ and see what happens.”

What happened next was a stunning back‑nine surge. Green piled on birdies, including a brilliant run through the heart of the closing stretch, to claw her way back into contention. The leaderboard tightened, the tension rose, and by the time the clubhouse door closed, Green stood alongside Kim and Jin Hee Im tied for the lead.

When the tournament shifted to the playoff, Green’s body language said plenty. She played the par‑4 18th with conviction, wedging her approach close enough to apply pressure before rolling in the winning birdie putt. It was decisive, calm and utterly familiar.

“I had that putt earlier in regulation, so I felt like I knew the line,” Green said. “It was still a tough putt, but I felt comfortable standing over it.”

The victory was more than just another trophy. It marked Green’s eighth LPGA Tour win and capped a remarkable run of form that has seen her win multiple times around the world this season, including on home soil in Australia. It also further cemented her reputation as one of the mental heavyweights in women’s golf, a player who rarely blinks when tournaments hang in the balance.
