Report – Many People In WWE Don’t Believe Brock Lesnar Has Retired Yet

There’s growing belief within WWE that Brock Lesnar may not be officially retired — despite the strong tease at WrestleMania 42 (Night Two).

Following his loss to Oba Femi at WrestleMania 42, Lesnar left his gloves and boots in the ring, a traditional signal of retirement. Paul Heyman added to the moment by berating the RAW production crew and demanding that Lesnar be shifted from the “Now” to the “Forever” segment of WWE’s “Then, Now, Forever” intro.

However, speaking on a recent edition of “Wrestling Observer Radio,” Dave Meltzer reported that many within WWE don’t believe Lesnar’s retirement is set in stone.

The internal expectation is that Lesnar will retire at some point this year — but not necessarily yet. It was noted that the situation is being kept quiet, similar to how information surrounding Seth Rollins has been handled in the past, leaving even those backstage uncertain about the exact plan.

Meltzer clarified that he isn’t confirming that Lesnar is still active — only that the belief among WWE sources is that the door remains open.

In the same discussion, it was noted that WWE had originally planned a longer feud between Lesnar and Femi heading into WrestleMania 42. At one stage, the match was not intended to be a one-off, but those plans were scrapped weeks before the event.

Prior to WWE WrestleMania 42 (Night Two), Lesnar’s expected retirement timeline was reportedly aimed toward SummerSlam 2026 in Minneapolis, MN. There were also creative hints pointing toward GUNTHER potentially being positioned as the one to end Lesnar’s career, particularly after his interactions with Heyman tied to his match against Rollins.

Whether Lesnar returns for one final run or quietly steps away remains unclear — but as of now, many within WWE aren’t convinced we’ve seen the last of “The Beast Incarnate.”
