WWE may already have a backup plan ready if Blake Monroe gets called up to the main roster, and it involves a new addition to the Vanity Project faction.
Following Monroe’s loss on Tuesday’s episode of NXT, talk about her potential main roster move has picked up. According to Bryan Alvarez, WWE is planning for Myka Lockwood to join the Vanity Project if Monroe does end up leaving NXT.
Lockwood made her on-screen debut during Tuesday’s show in a storyline involving Jackson Drake. The segment began with Shiloh Hill setting Drake up on a date in an effort to distract him from interfering in the Women’s North American Championship casket match between Monroe and champion Tatum Paxley. However, the original date never showed up, which led to Lockwood entering the scene.
During the segment, Lockwood connected with Drake after realizing he had been tricked by Hill using an AI chatbot. The moment ended with Lockwood leaving the bar alongside the Vanity Project members, strongly teasing her alignment with the group moving forward.
Outside of the storyline, Lockwood — whose real name is Bayley Humphrey — brings a strong athletic background to WWE. She is a former Division 1 acrobatics and tumbling All-American from Baylor University and joined WWE as part of the fourth NIL recruiting class announced in December 2023. Alvarez also noted that her finishing move has impressed those who have seen it so far.
If Monroe does get called up, Lockwood appears positioned to step into her place and help keep the Vanity Project stable intact on NXT television.
Do you think Blake Monroe is ready for a main roster call-up, or should WWE keep her in NXT longer while building up the Vanity Project?
