Three NextGen prospects will attend Great Britain’s pre-World Championship training camp which gets under way in Nottingham this weekend.

Defenceman Archie Hazeldine, along with forwards Ivan Bjorkly-Nordstrom and Brynley Capps, will link-up with Pete Russell’s squad.

“Archie, Ivan and Brynley will be fully involved with the camp and it’s great to be able to have them with us,” said Russell.

“It’s another strong indication of our NextGen process and trying use it to its maximum potential and of course, all three have been involved with us before at the IIHF European Cup of Nations.

“These players will be part of our future and the more we get them in and around the team, the more they will benefit and the more the GB programme will benefit.”

GB will play four matches, including two in the UK, against Italy as part of World Championship preparations.

Pete Russell’s side go head-to-head with Italy at Planet Ice Milton Keynes on Thursday 30th April (19:30 face-off) and the Motorpoint Arena Nottingham on Saturday 2nd May (19:00 face-off).

Limited tickets remain for both matches and you’re urged to secure your seats as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

They will then finish the four-game series with two matches in Varese in Italy on Sunday 10th May and Tuesday 12th May.

At May’s World Championship, GB will face Austria, USA, Hungary, Switzerland, Finland, Latvia and Germany in the group stages at the 12,000-seater Swiss Life Arena in Zurich.

Group B – which is being held at the 9,000-seater BCF Arena in Fribourg, consists of Canada, Sweden, Czechia, Denmark, Slovakia, Norway, Slovenia and Italy.
