Las Vegas, NV (April 24th, 2026)– Jarrell Miller and Lenier Pero both predict a KO finish on Saturday night as they meet in a WBA World Heavyweight title eliminator at BleauLive Theater at Fontainebleau Las Vegas, live worldwide on DAZN.
The undercard sees Alan Chaves fight for the first time, defending his WBO Latino Lightweight title against Miguel Madueno, Freudis Rojas takes on Damian Sosa over ten rounds as a Super-Welterweight, and Indian Olympian Nishant Dev kicks off the action live on DAZN against Juan Carlos Guerra Jr over eight rounds at Super-Welterweight.
The fighters were on hand at today’s Press Conference, alongside Matchroom Sport Chairman, Eddie Hearn – here is everything they had to say:
Eddie Hearn
This is a really important fight for the Heavyweight division, an official eliminator for the WBA World Heavyweight title, and an opportunity for Jarrell Miller and Lenier Pero to put themselves in position for the biggest fights in the sport.
Jarrell Miller
Pero is a phenomenal boxer with a good amateur pedigree, but he lost to the best like Usyk and Hrgovic, so that means jack to me. I’m a maniac when I’m in shape. My last fight wasn’t my best performance but we did what we had to do, I went back to Philly, into the dungeon, and we just ground it out every day. I’m going to have fun beating his ass, I’m going to paint his face bloody red on Saturday night.
He’s like a Lotus Elise sports car; pretty fast, doesn’t have much horsepower, it’s agile on turns – I’m like a big dumpster truck, and I am going to run him the fuck over. It’s not going to be pretty, he can run, but I’ll catch his ass and when I do, his goose is going to be cooked, plain and simple.
How long does it take to order a Big Mac at the drive-thru? It’s fast food, right? We’re going to treat it like fast food – get it quick, bite his ass, send his ass home. We’re going to stop his ass. It’s going to be one punch or a million punches.
Lenier Pero
It’s crazy because a year ago we were both asking for an opportunity at the convention here, so it shows what warriors we are that we’re here now. I know this fight comes with great expectation but I am ready and here for victory.
If he’s studied me he knows I am a warrior and I never give in. He’s been rallying a lot of bullshit but that doesn’t affect my psychology in any way. Opponents have come before and they have never stopped me in my tracks. I’m going to go in there and break him, I do my talking in the ring with my fists.
Bozy Ennis (Miller’s trainer)
Jarrell is ready. He’s in shape, he’s ready, and we’re going to shock the world with this fight. Lenier is a good fighter, but he better not come running forward; he needs to box and move, because if he comes forward, he’s going to catch hell.
Jarrell just needs to let his hands go, he can do everything, he’s athletic, he just has to listen, and he’ll be successful.
Bob Santos (Pero’s trainer)
The Heavyweight division doesn’t get bigger or better than this, and that’s why everyone wants to see the big boys rock and roll. We’re ready to go, ready to put on a great performance and at the end of the night, Lenier’s hand will be raised. We leave no stone unturned, we’re prepared and we are here for business.
We can fight on any level. Lenier fought Usyk when he was 16 years old and Usyk was 24 years old – he’s been in with everyone you can imagine and he’s seen it.
Alan Chaves
I want to thank Eddie for bringing me into the Matchroom team and putting me on this card. It’s a dream to be able to fight here and I’m coming in well prepared and ready to give my all.
I’ve never said no to a fight. Madueno wanted the fight and I respect that, we know he is a good fighter, he comes in with experience and he wants to win, so we can expect a war and the fans will be the ones who will enjoy this fight.
Miguel Madueno
I only had one week’s notice for the Oscar Duarte fight, but I’m forgetting about that as it’s in the past now. I know I am facing a really strong opponent who is on the up and looking to shine, but I feel I want to get back on a good career path and I think you can expect a war on Saturday night.
Freudis Rojas
I’m excited. I think this is a great fight, I’ve had my time in the PBC world and now it’s time to be in the Matchroom world, and I’m excited to showcase my skills and I think that this fight we’ll see fireworks.
It can be frustrating to see my teammates get big fights and I’m just looking on in the background, but I’m happy to have my chance now. I’ve got a great support around me, I’ve been bred to fight, it’s all I know how to do, and I’m in paradise when I am in that ring.
Damien Sosa
It’s the first time that I’ve fought in Las Vegas so I am extremely motivated for this. We’ve prepared well for this, I respect Rojas and his team, but I feel I am in my best moment for this fight and I’m ready to steal the show.
Nishant Dev
I am happy to be back in Las Vegas. I made my pro debut here last January and out in a great performance, so it’s nice to be back.
Every fight I am learning, improving and looking to get closer to becoming a World champion. People back home in India are excited to see me over there as a Matchroom fighter, fighting to be a World champion, so I am really excited for this journey.
‘CALM’ PERO READY TO FACE MILLER’S FIRE
Heavyweights collide in crunch WBA World title eliminator in Las Vegas on Saturday, live on DAZN
Unbeaten and steadily rising up the heavyweight ranks, WBA #2 contender Lenier “El Justiciero” Pero (13-0, 8 KOs) is approaching a career-defining moment as he prepares to face Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller (27-1-2, 22 KOs) in an eliminator for the WBA World Heavyweight title on Saturday night (April 25) at BleauLive Theater at Fontainebleau Las Vegas, live worldwide on DAZN.
Pero has embraced the magnitude of the moment while maintaining the discipline that has defined his rise. Pero has spent his training camp in Las Vegas working alongside respected trainer Bob Santos, focusing on sharpening both his physical tools and tactical awareness.
“This camp has been all about getting better every day,” said Pero. “Working with Bob Santos, we focus on doing the small things right, staying disciplined and understanding the game. Every session has a purpose. I feel more in control and more confident going into this fight.”
Facing a seasoned and physically imposing opponent in Miller, Pero approaches the matchup with respect, but also with clarity in his own abilities.
“Miller’s a strong guy who keeps coming and likes to make it a fight,” Pero continued. “He can take a punch and doesn’t back down, so I know what I’m up against. But this isn’t just about who’s stronger, it’s about staying calm, sticking to my game plan, and controlling the fight with intelligence. That’s how you win fights like this. At this level, the smarter fighter usually wins.”
For the first time in his professional career, Pero will step into the ring in Las Vegas, boxing’s global stage, a moment he views with both pride and purpose.
“Fighting in Las Vegas means a lot because so many great fighters have fought here,” Pero stated. “It’s the biggest stage in boxing, it’s the boxing capitol of the world, so it’s both an honor and a big responsibility. I’m excited for the opportunity to show a lot more people what I can do and prove I belong at the top level.”
Beyond rankings and titles, Pero carries a deeper motivation, representing his homeland and inspiring those who follow his journey from Cuba.
“This win isn’t just for me,” Pero concluded. “It means a lot to the people back home in Cuba. I carry them with me every time I step in the ring. If I can make them proud and inspire even one kid to believe in themselves, then it’s all worth it. The goal is to come out on top and get my shot a World title.”
