UFC CEO Dana White was in attendance for Saturday’s White House Correspondent’s Dinner, where a shooter seemingly made an attempt on president Donald Trump’s life.
Thankfully, the shooter didn’t get anywhere near the president or any of the dignitaries or businesspeople in attendance, and was apprehended some distance away. However, that didn’t stop security personnel from rushing into the room to secure the area, and escort the president to safety.
Shortly after the incident occurred, White spoke to the reporters on scene, and shared his reaction to the chaos.
It’s safe to say his reaction will surprise some people.

“It just started getting noisy,” White said. “Tables getting flipped over, guys running in with guns and they were screaming ‘get down!’ I didn’t get down. It was f*cking awesome. I literally took every minute of it in. It was a pretty crazy, unique experience.
“We were sitting right in front of the table, right in front of where the president was,” he added. “Nobody got tackled, but guys came in looking for shooters, and they came toward our table. I thought the shooter was over by us or something.”
White likely knows a thing or two about the expansive security network around Trump. He will be working closely with the president’s security team in the lead-up to the upcoming UFC Freedom 250 event, which is slated for June 14 on the White House lawn. The event is expected to be the most logistically challenging — and expensive — in UFC history.
