Arsenal are seriously keen on signing Ajax star Mika Godts, with the forward now being targeted by a number of Europe’s top clubs.
Scouts were in attendance to watch the 20-year-old in action against NAC Breda at the weekend, and he put on a show, scoring one of the goals of the season in Ajax’s 2-0 Eredivisie victory.

Analyst Spencer Mossman has lauded the youngster for having an “insanely productive” season, and described him as a “terror in space”, having now amassed a whopping 29 goal involvements in all competitions.
Mike Godts’ statistics this season
- 39 appearances
- 16 goals
- 13 assists
Not only that, but at the time of Mossman’s X post, the former Vitesse man had recorded the fourth-highest speed in the Champions League this season, which suggests his pace could also be of great use to Mikel Arteta.
From an Arsenal point of view, it has been a slightly strange season in the Premier League, as they have only one player in the top ten scorers, despite setting the pace at the top of the table for the vast majority of the campaign.

With that in mind, bringing in a new forward this summer may be a savvy move, and their interest in Godts is serious, according to a report from TEAMtalk.
A plethora of rival Premier League clubs are also keen on the starlet, alongside the likes of La Liga heavyweights Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, with Ajax preparing for a major sale, although it is unclear what sort of fee they are looking for.
The Belgium international has been likened to compatriot Eden Hazard, who amassed a whopping 110 goals and 88 assists in the Premier League during his time with Chelsea.
Gabriel Martinelli future update
Unlike Godts, who has been a vital player for Ajax, Gabriel Martinelli has fallen down the pecking order somewhat at Arsenal this season, completing the full 90 minutes just once in the Premier League since the turn of the year.
There have been reports Martinelli wants to leave in the summer, amid interest from Paris Saint-Germain, and Andrea Berta has set out to replace the Brazilian with a La Liga star.

Eberechi Eze, on the other hand, has forced his way back into contention, after being dropped by Arteta earlier this season, and ended up scoring the winner in what could be a crucial 1-0 victory against Newcastle United last time out.
