Naoya Inoue recent form

Inoue (32-0, 27 KOs) has looked largely imperious moving through the divisions to now being the undisputed super bantamweight world champion. Since dominating Stephen Fulton to become the unified super bantamweight champion, Inoue beat Marlon Tapales to become the undisputed king. Since then, Luis Nery and Ramon Cardenas scored knockdowns against Inoue, but “The Monster” bounced back in both fights, stopping his opponents.

Junto Nakatani

Nakatani (32-0, 24 KOs) passed his toughest test last time out, against Sebastian Hernandez Reyes, in his first fight at super bantamweight. Two judges had it 115-113, which felt a fair reflection of a close fight, before the last card of 118-110 for Nakatani, which was debatable to put it mildly. Before that, “Big Bang” had looked faultless at bantamweight, scoring impressive stoppage wins in 2025 against Ryosuke Nishida and David Cuellar Contreras.

Naoya Inoue vs Junto Nakatani prediction

A mega-fight for Japanese boxing and a truly brilliant match-up for the boxing purists. Inoue is regarded by many as the pound-for-pound number one. He is a great combination puncher who wastes very little and carries that fight-ending power.

His body punching is elite, and has helped him break down many opponents. His variation is also a vital attribute that keeps his opponents guessing. Nakatani is tall and rangy, and often dominates fights by punching long and using his jab. “Big Bang” also carries a fight-ending power. He sets traps in his fights and punishes opponents with KO power. Nakatani will look to use his feet and maintain range, but if Inoue can breach his jab, it could be a long night for Nakatani. We are backing Inoue’s experience at the weight to get him the win. We back the “Monster” to win by unanimous decision.
