ATP Madrid: Medvedev vs Cobolli and Mensik vs Zverev, Betting Predictions and Best Bets

The action in the Spanish capital is heating up as we move into the Round of 16 at the Madrid Open. Here is a quick breakdown of tonight’s two great matchups. Find our betting picks and odds for Medvedev vs Cobolli and Mensik vs Zverev.

Daniil Medvedev vs. Flavio Cobolli

Venue: Arantxa Sanchez Stadium

Scheduled Time: Approx. 20:10 CEST

A good clash of styles on the Madrid clay in this matchup. Daniil Medvedev is finding his rhythm after a rocky start to the month, getting past Nicolai Budkov Kjær in the previous round. While clay isn’t his favorite surface, the altitude in Madrid makes the courts faster, which suits his flat-hitting game quite good.

Flavio Cobolli, on the other hand, is having a breakout 2026. He has already reached two finals this year and is coming off a deep run in Munich. He’s a natural clay-courter with high energy and top-spin-heavy groundstrokes that could trouble Medvedev if the rallies go long.

  • Head-to-Head: Medvedev leads 2-0 (both wins came in 2024, both on hard-courts).

Predictions and best bets: Looking at the odds, Medvedev is the favorite going into the match. I’m not so sure about that though, for the most part because the form of Medevedev is so up and down lately. I think Cobolli has a good chance to take his first win against the Russian today on clay. My bet is Game Handicap Cobolli (+1.5) @ 1.79 (-125).

Jakub Mensik vs. Alexander Zverev

Venue: Manolo Santana Centre Court

Scheduled Time: Approx. 21:10 CEST

I’m really looking forward to this one! World no 3, Zverev, playing in one of his favorite tournaments, against a young, strong opponent in Mensik, that can beat almost anyone it feels like.

Zverev is a two-time champion here and thrives in these unique conditions. He looked clinical in his straight-sets win over Terence Atmane yesterday.

Mensik just survived a marathon tie-break battle against Karen Khachanov to get here and he looks really solid in the big moments during matches. He possesses a massive serve and a superb backhand, but the big question is his recovery, he’s played a lot of tennis over the last 48 hours and he’s been suffering from some injuries lately.

  • Head-to-Head: First-ever meeting between these two.
  • Zverev has the experience and the physical fresh legs, but Mensik has shown he isn’t afraid of the big stage or the big names and his form is great.

Predictions and best bets: Zverev is the favorite at around odds 1.45 (-225) and I think he will eventually get through this tough test, on one of his favorite courts. We might see a tie-break here. I’m taking Winner & Total, Zverev & Over 22.5 @ 2.75 (+175).
