Today I warmed up at 7 AM again with Ellen Neumann. I didn’t play until 2:30 and Ellen played at 11:30. We both won and both play much earlier tomorrow I play second match after 8:30 so probably around 9:30 or 10.
I didn’t play the prettiest match, but my opponent definitely had fun teeing off on some of my first and second serves with her forehand till I made an adjustment to my serve towards the end of the match. Took me a while to get my drop shot going, but once it started clearing the net, that was very good for me!
Here matches are scheduled first match at 8:30 followed by a second match then a third match is not before 11:30 followed by a second match then not before 2:30 followed by a second match and so on. On our court the first match after 11:30 ended in a retirement by the person who won the first set 60 but then the tournament gave our court away to some other people since it wasn’t quite 2:30 when they finished. We both were available to play early and were lucky to play a different court right away.
I didn’t do much besides warm-up, play my match, hit the grocery store to get some soup and drinks, visit a bit with Ellen and her husband Lutz, and a couple of French players, and get a massage. But it was a nice day overall albeit a bit cold again, since there was no sun.
Tomorrow I play the semis against a French player Marie Deleuse, who upset the number four seed, Dagmar Sperneder.
Ellen plays #2 seeded Betty Michel..she beat the #4 seeded Michelina Valente today.
