Fanatec will be increasing the torque outputs of two existing sim racing wheel bases next week.
A firmware update, via the Fanatec App, will soon be released, boosting the holding newton-metres for the ClubSport DD and PlayStation-compatible ClubSport DD+.
They will be boosted from 12Nm to 15Nm and 15Nm to 18Nm, respectively, without the need for a hardware change. Interestingly, it means ClubSport DD owners now match the original DD+ output.
The models were unveiled in 2023, signalling the start of a whole range refresh for the German brand. Since then, it has introduced the range-topping Podium DD with 25Nm.
These three models include the manufacturer’s FullForce haptic layer of effects, which the company says it is planning to introduce into the older, and more affordable, CSL DD and Gran Turismo DD Pro wheel bases, too.
