Alexa Bliss has officially shut the door on one of her most talked-about personas, confirming that her iconic “Dark Alexa” character is effectively retired.
This comes from a recent Instagram video shared by a fan named Amadeus Sebas, where Bliss wished him a happy birthday and addressed the question of whether “Dark Alexa” could return. This time, she didn’t tease anything: she gave a firm answer and tied it directly to her history with Bray Wyatt. Bliss explained that the character meant a lot to her personally, but because of how closely it was connected to Bray and the Wyatts, she wants to leave it exactly where it is.
“Now, about Dark Alexa—while I love that it meant something to you, it meant a lot to me as well. That chapter was very special and closely tied to my time with Bray. So out of respect for him and the Wyatts, I’d like to keep that version of myself exactly where it is. And for the time, it is retired and untouched.”
That’s a clear change from where she stood before. In a previous interview with Sports Illustrated, Bliss was far more open to revisiting the darker side of her character. While discussing the possibility of bringing Lilly to life, she revealed that Chelsea Green had even pitched herself as the real-life version of the eerie doll.
“She had actually texted me, I think it was when I was on maternity leave, and she was like, ‘Hey, one day I will be Lilly.’”
Bliss also noted that several women in WWE had shown interest in the idea, but she preferred to keep Lilly mysterious, while still entertaining the possibility.
“We’ve actually had a lot of people pitch to be the real life Lilly. For me, I like keeping Lilly as something that’s a little more mysterious. I like not putting a face to the name, but if the time ever came when they’re like, ‘Hey, we need to make Lilly come alive.’ I think Chelsea would be the perfect fit.”
And when asked directly about returning to her darker persona at the time, Bliss didn’t hesitate to say she was open to it.
“A hundred percent… One thing I’ve always said about my character is that it’s always evolving. I do have my next idea already for my character, but right now my character’s not friends with Charlotte. And that’s been a lot of fun, and who knows, maybe Charlotte will become the next Lilly.”
Bottom line—Bliss has gone from teasing a full return to drawing a hard line. What once sounded like a “when” is now a firm “no.” And the reason is personal. For her, “Dark Alexa” isn’t just another gimmick; it’s tied to Bray Wyatt, and that’s something she’s choosing not to revisit.
Do you think Alexa Bliss made the right call retiring “Dark Alexa,” or should WWE have found a way to bring that character back? Sound off in the comments.
