Packers Linked To $14 Million Pass Rusher To Boost Jonathan Gannon’s Defense

Packers Linked To Million Pass Rusher To Boost Jonathan Gannon’s Defense

The Packers found solid value in the fourth round of the 2026 NFL Draft, selecting Dani Dennis-Sutton to pair opposite Micah Parsons, as a solid rotational edge rusher, but may not be done adding at the position.

Given that Parsons is still working his way back from a torn ACL suffered late last season, and Green Bay may be forced to play Dennis-Sutton quality snaps immediately, shopping for quality pass rush depth could be a top priority for GM Brian Gutekunst and the Packers in the weeks ahead.

One name that could be fascinating to watch, because of his ties to new defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon from their time together with the Philadelphia Eagles and Arizona Cardinals is Haason Reddick.

Over at NFL Media, Matt Okada argues that Reddick is a perfect fit for the Packers.

“Reddick was a Pro Bowler in 2023,” Okada points out, for NFL Media. “Then, he departed Philadelphia in a trade and held out through the start of the following season in New York — and he lost a lot of his luster. Since the start of the 2024 campaign, he’s totaled just 3.5 sacks and 62 QB pressures, a sharp drop from the double-digit sacks and 50-plus pressures he logged in four straight seasons prior. It still feels like Reddick, who turns 32 in the fall, could have an impact in the right scheme and with the squad.

“A potential solution is to put him oppositeMicah Parsonsin a Green Bay defense coordinated by DC Jonathan Gannon. You know, the guy who was coordinating Philly’s unit back in 2022, when Reddick recorded a career-high 16 sacks and 76 pressures. With Gannon on the sticks and Parsons drawing all the attention on the other edge, Reddick could be unlocked for a renaissance season, and the Packers could field one of the scarier pass rushes in the league.”

Reddick, who just played out a one-year contract worth $14 million with the Cardinals, is looking to bounce back from a down season in Arizona and could benefit from the personnel that the Packers have already added in the front seven.

As Parsons works his way back, and eventually as a bookend on the opposite side of the front-seven, Reddick’s presence could create a formidable and disruptive pass rush duo, with young rushers like Dennis-Sutton and Lukas Van Ness’ impact being elevated as fresh legs getting after the quarterback as part of a rotation, as well.
