Liverpool announced the welcome news that Mo Salah can play again this season, much to the relief of supporters who feared his career would end without a proper farewell.
After the No. 11 pulled up against Crystal Palace, there were fears his season and Liverpool career had come to a premature end, amid claims of a four-week absence.
Liverpool have since confirmed that the Egyptian suffered only minor damage to his hamstring and is expected to play again before the curtain falls on his Anfield career.
The club did not offer an exact timeline, but it remains likely that the 33-year-old may only be fit to face Brentford on the final day of the season on May 24.
Knowing his powers of recovery, it could be sooner, but either way, supporters were relieved by the news that Salah will get at least one final bow on the pitch as a Liverpool player:
So happy about this. He deserves the best of all send offs. So does Robbo.

“He might be handsomely paid, but 60,000+ & many millions worldwide will want to say thank you for the many, many, many great moments that Mo gave us to bring smiles to our collective faces when Brentford come to town the last game.” – Saul Woodman in TIA comments.
“Great news. It was an exhausting season, let’s end up on a positive note with a deserved farewell.” – Zalan Alfred Pall in TIA comments.

Hearing the news Mohamed Salah is still expected to play, has made the final games more positive to watch.
It will be a very emotional ending, it’ll hurt a lot, but he’s leaving on his own terms and we will miss him and forever grateful to witness 9 years of his greatness. pic.twitter.com/BegL3wYtOJ

Other than maybe Suarez, I don’t think I can remember a play as durable as Salah ever.
Nine seasons, 33-years-old, and he’s not had one long-term injury absence in that time. Mental.

Salah is a beast man, you can tell how well he looks after himself with his injury record ?

The trip to Man United will be only the second match Salah has missed this season due to injury, and while Arne Slot has opted to overlook him at times, his availability remains at the elite level.
He is deserving of a farewell that sees him take in the adoration from the pitch, not the sidelines, and, thankfully, everyone’s wishes have come true.
Quite how involved the Egyptian will be remains to be seen, but at least this way there is still the possibility of adding to his incredible tally of 257 Liverpool goals.
