Planet Coaster 2’s latest free content patch has arrived. Update 9 adds arcade cabinets, new blueprints, and much-requested upgrades for coasters.
First outlined with the full patch notes released earlier this week, Update 9 for Frontier Developments’ park sim sequel is out now, and you can watch an overview of what’s included with the highlights video:
It’s a rather substantial free update (even if paid DLCs have also arrived since the game launched) and more proof that Frontier is steadily making progress on recurring player requests. If you’d rather have the rundown in written form, here you go:
Entertainment tab
- A new Entertainment tab has been added to the object browser.
- From here players will be able to access the new Arcades content introduced in Update 9.

- Guests can win prizes from the machines directly or tickets which can be swapped for prizes at the Prize Counter.
- Park Managers can decide how many tickets and prizes their guests can win from their arcades.
Coasters Lights and Upgrades
- Coasters that have headlights now have a toggle in their customise panel that will allow players to turn the lights on, off or set to only at night!
- New track variations have been added across a range of rides, including thick beam options for several V&N coasters.
- Outamax coasters also get expanded track styles, with tri-tube, and bi-tube variations now available.
- And the V&N Wing coaster now supports LSM launch and hold track pieces.
