Mark Henry Open to Passing Down World’s Strongest Slam to Oba Femi

Mark Henry Open to Passing Down World’s Strongest Slam to Oba Femi

Mark Henry has kept one of his most iconic moves close to the chest for years, but now he’s ready to hand it over, and he wants to pass it to Oba Femi.

Speaking on the Humble Roses podcast, Henry was asked if there was any current wrestler he’d trust to carry on his legendary World’s Strongest Slam. That’s when he brought up Oba Femi—and made it clear this isn’t something he offers lightly. Henry started by explaining why Femi stands out compared to others using similar power-based offense, pointing to his unique mix of strength and athleticism.

“Oh, it’d have to be Oba Femi because of his strength and his athleticism. I love the pop-up powerbomb, but there are people that have done the pop-up powerbomb, the running powerbomb, or so many different variations of it.”

He then made it clear just how selective he’s been with this move over the years, noting that while others have paid homage to him, he’s never officially given anyone his full approval to carry it forward.

“I have not given anybody the green light to do the World’s Strongest Slam, even though Bianca Belair did it. People have done the Mark Henry spot—I mean, there’s stuff that I feel really blessed that people have respected me enough to do my stuff and pay homage. Otis did the World’s Strongest Slam a few times.”

Finally, Henry made the key distinction—there’s a difference between paying tribute and being personally taught how to execute the move the right way. And for Femi, he’s ready to take that step.

“I feel honored when people do it, but I have not blessed it and said, ‘Listen, I’m going to show you the nuances of how to really make this powerful.’ I would do that for him—absolutely.”

Bottom line—this isn’t just about using a move, it’s about earning the endorsement behind it. And if Mark Henry follows through, Oba Femi could become the first wrestler to officially carry one of WWE’s most iconic finishers into the next generation.

Do you think Oba Femi is the right choice to inherit the World’s Strongest Slam, or should that move stay exclusive to Mark Henry’s legacy? Sound off in the comments.
