Backstage WWE RAW Notes for April 27 Reveal Writers, Producers and Internal Show Title

The April 27 episode of WWE RAW had a lot going on behind the scenes, and now the full creative breakdown has been revealed.

According to Fightful Select, the show was internally titled “Family Business,” reflecting the heavy focus on Roman Reigns, The Usos, and interconnected storylines throughout the night. The report also revealed that a segment involving Ethan Page and Rusev was originally planned for the broadcast before being shifted to a digital exclusive.

Michael Kirshenbaum wrote the segment where Roman Reigns consulted with The Usos, one of the key storyline moments tied to the show’s “Family Business” theme. Ben Saccoccio and Kirsten Koedding were responsible for The Judgment Day’s backstage attack on Stephanie Vaquer, continuing that faction’s aggressive presence on the show.

James Curtin handled multiple segments across the episode, including the El Grande Americano backstage promo, the “Original” El Grande Americano segment alongside Rey Mysterio, and the Grayson Waller segment inside Adam Pearce’s office.

The backstage segment involving The Usos and LA Knight was written by Michael Kirshenbaum and Brian Parise, adding to the ongoing tensions between top stars. Brian Parise also teamed with John Trowbridge to write the backstage segment featuring Joe Hendry, The Street Profits, and Seth Rollins. Ben Saccoccio wrote the Asuka backstage promo, while Alexandra Williams handled The Judgment Day backstage promo later in the show.

On the production side, Bobby Roode was heavily involved, producing the Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker segment, the Joe Hendry concert and brawl, and the major segment involving Jacob Fatu and Roman Reigns.

Jamie Noble produced the Penta vs. Rusev match, while Jason Jordan handled the Becky Lynch vs. IYO SKY match. Shawn Daivari was listed as the producer for Rey Mysterio vs. El Grande Americano, while Abyss produced the Oba Femi vs. Grayson Waller match. Finally, TJ Wilson was responsible for producing the tag team match featuring Bayley and Lyra Valkyria against Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez.

So in the end, this breakdown shows how structured WWE’s creative process is behind the scenes, with specific writers and producers assigned to each segment and match to shape the overall flow of RAW.

Do you think WWE’s current creative structure is helping RAW feel more cohesive, or does it still need adjustments? Let us know in the comments.
