Sami Zayn still doesn’t understand why WWE fans are increasingly booing him, but he claims it doesn’t bother him because he knows his millions of ride-or-die fans are still there with him. Sure.
What does bother Sami is when he is disrespected, like what United States Champion Trick Williams has done by trotting out this stupid Gingerbread Man costume on WWE TV in recent weeks. This anger led to Sami snapping and dismembering the Gingerbread Man on tonight’s (May 1) episode of SmackDown.
That heinous attack prompted Trick to run out to chase Zayn away, but it was too late to save the Gingerbread Man. Williams threw up the X sign so WWE doctors at ringside knew it was a serious situation that demanded their attention.
Trick cut a backstage promo on Zayn later in the show, where a physician interrupted to let him know that the Gingerbread Man didn’t make it. Trick’s mind was made up, and he demanded a rematch against Zayn at Backlash on May 9.
WWE then aired an In Memoriam graphic for Gingerbread, and said Trick will host a funeral for Man next week on SmackDown.
