Naoya Inoue vs Junto Nakatani – Big Fight Preview & Predictions

Naoya Inoue meets Junto Nakatani in a blockbuster all-Japanese showdown for the undisputed super bantamweight crown on Saturday in Tokyo.

Inoue puts all four of his titles on the line against Nakatani at the Tokyo Dome, live on DAZN.

Inoue (32-0, 27 KOs) has catapulted himself into the pound-for-pound top three conversation by bulldozing his way to world titles in four weight classes.

The ‘Monster’ dismantled Marlon Tapales in 10 rounds to claim the undisputed crown in 2023 and has made six defences since.

The unbeaten 33-year-old faced some adversity last May against Ramon Cardenas, after being floored in round two.

However, he bounced back to halt the Texan in the eighth round.

Inoue completed his fourth fight of 2025, outpointing Alan David Picasso in December in Riyadh.

Nakatani (32-0, 24 KOs) looks to join his compatriot as a four-weight world champion and upset the odds.

‘Big Bang’ scored five ruthless stoppage victories at bantamweight in a run which saw him become unified world champion.

The undefeated 28-year-old southpaw made his debut at super bantamweight on the same card as his rival in December, overcoming Sebastian Hernandez Reyes with a gutsy unanimous decision victory.

Prediction: Nakatani should cause Inoue some problems early on with his slick style, but I expect Inoue to be too experienced and powerful in the end and emerge with a dominant points win.

Inoue defends title vs Ioka

Naoya Inoue’s younger brother, Takuma makes a first defence of his WBC bantamweight world title against former world champion, Kazuto Ioka.

After losing his WBA bantamweight crown, Inoue (21-2, 5 KO) bounced back to win the WBC belt he defends on Saturday with a unanimous decision victory over Tenshin Nasukawa in November.

Ioka (32-4-1, 17 KOs) bids to become world champion in a fifth weight class after a stellar career spanning 17 years.

The 37-year-old got back to winning ways following back-to-back losses to Fernando Martinez with a fourth round knockout of Maikel Ordosgoitti in December.

Prediction: Ioka may have won last hurrah in him and the pick is for him to take the belt by decision.

Remaining Undercard

Reiya Abe (28-4-2, 10 KOs) can close in on another featherweight world title shot by overcoming Toshiki Shimomachi (22-1-3, 12 KOs) on points.

Sora Tanaka (5-0, 5 KOs) should continue his quick rise up the professional ranks with a stoppage victory over former world title challenger, Jin Sasaki (20-2-1, 18 KOs) in their welterweight battle.

Flyweight prospect, Shoga Tanaka (5-0, 3 KOs) can take his first title as a professional by overcoming Kosuke Tomioka (11-4, 8 KOs) on points in their clash for the WBO Asia Pacific title.

Olympian Yuito Moriwaki (1-0-1) should see off Deok No Yun (10-2-1, 8 KOs) on points to secure the WBO Asia Pacific and Oriental and Pacific super middleweight belts.

Former world champion, Yoshiki Takei (11-1, 9 KOs) can return to winning ways by stopping DeKang Wang (9-1, 3 KOs) at super bantamweight.
