In praise of the star pacer, Jasprit Bumrah, Sarfaraz Khan who is a cricketer from India, said that Bumrah is one of the best bowlers. Currently, Bumrah is playing in the ongoing Test series against Bangladesh with the first Test taking place at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on Thursday. During an interview with Jio Cinema, Sarfaraz reminisced about Bumrah’s performance in T20 World Cup final against South Africa where he performed brilliantly for India by claiming wickets.

“Just a few months ago you saw his magic during T20 World Cup Final when it was getting out of our hands but he took a very important wicket. He has done it many times when team was in trouble. There is no doubt he is among the finest,” Sarfaraz said as reported by Jio Cinema’s release.

Bumrah has managed to claim 159 wickets at an average of 20.69 in 37 Tests, with his best bowling figures of 6/27. He has taken 33 wickets from nine home Tests at an average of 16.36, with best figures of 6/45.

The first match of the two-match series between India and Bangladesh in Chennai saw Bangladesh win the toss and opt to bowl first. After the top-order collapse, India found themselves reeling at 34/3 during their innings with the openers Yashasvi Jaiswal (56 runs off 118 balls including nine fours) and Rishabh Pant (39 runs off 52 balls including six fours) forming a partnership that brought India back into contention for some time within the match itself for fourth wicket partnership spanning over 62 runs.

Nevertheless, India had collapsed to 144/6 and Ashwin and Jadeja (86* in 117 balls with 10 fours and 2 sixes) put up an unbeaten partnership of 195 runs leading to the end of the day at 339/6. He has also scored a century while remaining not out.

At the end of the first day, Ashwin was still not out in 112 balls after making 102 runs at a strike rate of 91.07. In his innings, he struck 10 fours and 2 sixes.

Hasan Mahmud (4/58) was the top bowler for Bangladesh, destroying the Indian top order, removing skipper Rohit Sharma (6), Shubman Gill (0) and Virat Kohli (6).
