The Kansas City Chiefs may have just revealed their latest roster move and the newest player to join the franchise.
The Kansas City Chiefs have made a lot of changes in 2026.
Not only will there be several new starting players throughout the roster, the Chiefs also brought new assistants to their coaching staff.
Eric Bieniemy may not necessarily be new to being Kansas City’s offensive coordinator, but he was gone for three years before returning in 2026. Here is a list of other new assistant coach the Chiefs have brought in during the offseason.

- Terry Bradden Jr. – Assistant Defensive Line Coach
- Nate Pagan – Offensive Quality Control Coach
- CJ Cox – Defensive Quality Control Coach
Kansas City Chiefs HC Andy Reid Discusses Impact Chad O’Shea, DeMarco Murray Are Already Having on Offense
While speaking to the media this past weekend, Reid had big praise for O’Shea and Murray specifically.
“I like the way they go about their business,” Reid said. “They’re thorough. They’re good with players. They’re demanding. They’re asking the young guys here to do what they do. Then we have meetings with the other (veteran) guys, so you get to see them operate in the meeting room and hold people accountable. I’ve liked that part so far. They seem to be good teachers, which is the primary thing.”
The Chiefs’ wide receiver and running back corps have struggled each of the past few years. After a disappointing 6-11 season in 2025, it was finally time to shake things up. They started by parting ways with former WRs coach Connor Embree, replacing him with O’Shea.
What to Do Chad O’Shea and Demarco Murray Bring to the Chiefs?

O’Shea is a longtime coach who has focused on the WRs during the majority of his career. He has helped develop some big-name receivers over the years, such as Wes Welker, Julian Edelman, Randy Moss, Danny Amendola, Brandin Cooks, DeVante Parker, Odell Beckham Jr., Jarvis Landry, Amari Cooper, and Jerry Jeudy.
Kansas City didn’t make any notable additions to its receiver room in free agency or the draft, suggesting that it believes O’Shea’s coaching can get things where they need to be. Rashee Rice will look to put together a complete season and produce like a true No. 1 WR. Xavier Worthy will be back healthy after an injury-riddled sophomore year, and Tyquan Thornton will look to evolve beyond just being a deep threat.
As for Murray, he is leading a revamped RB room that features newcomers Kenneth Walker III, Emari Demercado, and Emmett Johnson. The Chiefs haven’t had a legitimate rushing attack in multiple years, and their last 1,000-yard rusher was Kareem Hunt all the way back in 2017. Murray is a former All-Pro RB who jumped right into coaching immediately after his playing days.
He has spent the last seven years in the collegiate ranks as Oklahoma’s RBs coach. The Sooners’ rushing attack was very good during Murray’s first year with the team, averaging 240 yards per game and six yards per carry. The high level of success Murray had during his NFL career should help him with the adjustment from the college game, as well as Bieniemy’s extensive background as a RBs coach.
