A report emerging from the United Kingdom has claimed Adrian Newey recently dealt with a health issue that allegedly required hospital treatment, explaining his absence from the Miami Grand Prix weekend, although Newey is not scheduled to attend every GP. According to the Daily Mail, the Aston Martin managing technical partner is currently recovering and has largely been working remotely in recent weeks while continuing to support the team during a difficult opening phase of the 2026 Formula 1 season.
Aston Martin did not confirm the claims. A spokesperson reacted: “We don’t comment on personal matters relating to any of our team members. Adrian is working and was on campus last week.”

Formula 1 and Sky have reached a fresh long-term agreement that will keep the broadcaster as the home of the sport across the United Kingdom, Ireland and Italy for several more years. The renewed deal will see Sky continue airing every Formula 1 session live – from practice and qualifying to Sprint weekends and Grands Prix – through Sky Sports, Sky Sport Italia and NOW. The agreement runs until 2034 in the UK and Ireland, while Italian coverage has been secured through 2032.
Commenting on the announcement, Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali praised Sky for being a long-standing and trusted partner of the sport, highlighting the broadcaster’s role in helping Formula 1 continue to grow across the UK, Ireland and Italy through its live coverage, content production and in-depth analysis. Domenicali also expressed his satisfaction over extending the partnership into the next decade.
