Pogacar leaves Seixas behind, Pidcock is back among best and Vingegaard invests in Giro
Another week, another shake-up in the 2026 UCI WorldTour Ranking after the racing on the road. The Tour de Romandie was dominated by Tadej Pogacar, Eschborn-Frankfurt saw Georg Zimmermann surge to the top in front of his home crowds and the Tour of Turkey was claimed by Sebastian Berwick. These three events were the key to ranking changes over the past week as several names scored in absence of Classics riders and Giro d’Italia participants alike. Let’s take stock of where the sport’s headline acts stand.
Unsurprisingly, the spotlight is on Tadej Pogacar. The Slovenian, as noted, won the Tour de Romandie. He didn’t stop there, taking 4 of the 6 stages along the way. That haul delivered 820 points, lifting him past the 4,000 mark to 4,335 and opening a sizeable gap to second-placed Paul Seixas.

The Frenchman did not race this past week, nor did Remco Evenepoel, Wout van Aert or Mathieu van der Poel, who all remain in the Top 5. Mauro Schmid holds sixth despite abandoning the Tour de Romandie early. Isaac del Toro is still sidelined but keeps seventh place.

Tom Pidcock also made headlines after coming within a whisker of victory at Eschborn-Frankfurt. Those 320 UCI points push the Pinarello Q36.5 star from 10th to 8th in the UCI Ranking. His rise nudges Romain Gregoire to ninth and Tobias Lund Andresen to tenth, both down one spot compared to last week.

With the Giro d’Italia in mind, Jonas Vingegaard has not raced in recent weeks, costing him two more places in the Ranking. The Dane sits 16th on 1,219.6 points, but as the leading favourite for the Corsa Rosa, a win (worth 1,100 points) alongside some nice stage results would trigger a major leap once the first Grand Tour of the year concludes.

Further in the top-20

The podium finishers from Tour de Romandie; Lenny Martinez and Florian Lipowitz move up the rankings to 11th (from 18th) and 15th (from 29th), passing aforementioned Vingegaard among others. At the bottom of this week’s top-20 sits Ion Izagirre who rides an outstanding final season of his career with another top result. This time, a 6th place at Eschborn-Frankfurt is just enough to move to a 20th position in the 2026 ranking.
