The Bucs took another step toward finalizing their rookie class, officially signing five more newcomers to their first NFL contracts. After signing first round pick Rueben Bain Jr., the team announced that Tampa Bay inked defensive back Keionte Scott, defensive lineman DeMonte Capehart, offensive guard Billy Schrauth and tight end Bauer Sharp as part of their 2026 rookie class.
That leaves second round pick inside linebacker Josiah Trotter and third round pick wide receiver Ted Hurst as the only players remaining from the draft class that are still unsigned.

Bucs Have Five Of Seven Draft Picks Signed To The Team
Getting rookie deals done early has been a priority for Tampa Bay, allowing the coaching staff to focus on development and evaluation rather than contract logistics. With these signings, the Bucs continue to bring their incoming group fully into the fold ahead of a critical offseason program. That’s important as well with rookie mini-camp coming up on Friday and Saturday.
Scott headlines the group as one of the more intriguing additions, bringing versatility in the secondary with experience at both slot cornerback and safety. His physical style and ability to play in the slot could give defensive coordinator Todd Bowles another chess piece in sub-packages. Capehart adds size and strength to the defensive front, while Schrauth bolster the offensive line depth with physical, interior presence.

Along the offensive side, Sharp gives Tampa Bay another option at tight end, a position the team continues to value for both blocking and pass-catching versatility. His skill set could allow him to compete for a role in multiple personnel groupings as he adjusts to the pro game.
With five players under contract, the Buccaneers are steadily locking in a rookie class that will be counted on to provide depth, competition and potential long-term upside. The next phase will be proving themselves on the practice field as they look to carve out roles heading into training camp.
