Bayern Munich take Konrad Laimer stance

Bayern Munich will be firm with the wage demands of Konrad Laimer, according to CFBayernInsider.

Journalist Christian Falk wrote: “Bayern Munich have drawn a line in the sand over Konrad Laimer’s contract demands.

“They’ve already paid a lot of money for Musiala, Davies, and Joshua Kimmich’s contract.

“They made him an improved offer on his current contract.

“It’s said that the Austrian is earning €8m-9m a year (gross).

“He wants more than €15m, which is the point where Bayern will simply say, ‘No – we won’t negotiate around this figure’.

“Then he would have to leave.

“However, Bayern’s reasoning is that, because Laimer came in on a free from RB Leipzig, if they have to lose him on a free in 2027 (when he turns 29), that wouldn’t be such a big problem.

“So, they’re happy to run down his contract for another season.

“Uli Hoeneß, the godfather of Bayern Munich, who sits on the supervisory board, said that he likes Konrad Laimer.

“But he made it clear that the auxiliary right-back has to believe that he’s not Diego Maradona, and so a wage demand of this amount is quite a lot!

“If he were more heavily involved in Bayern’s successes in the Champions League and had personally steered the club to the final in Budapest, perhaps he’d have an argument to the contrary.

“But at the moment, there’s no chance Laimer will be signing a new deal for the amount he’s looking for.”
