Fabio Wardley came in lighter than Daniel Dubois who took to the scales at a career highest weight.
Wardley defends his WBO heavyweight world title against Dubois at the Co-op Live Arena on Saturday, live on DAZN.
Wardley tipped the scales at 242.2lbs, just under half a pound lighter than in his last victory against Joseph Parker when he came into the contest at 242.7lbs; in the Parker fight he was the smaller man, similarly to how he will be on Saturday.
Dubois came in at 251.7lbs, a career highest; ‘DDD’ came into his last fight against Oleksandr Usyk weighing 243.8lbs so the increased weight is clearly intentional.
TalkSport’s Simon Jordan oversaw the pair’s final face off in DAZN’s new fight week format, ‘The Cauldron.’
Both men kept their lips tight claiming “The talking is done” as they look ahead to the sound of the first bell which can be expected to ring in under 24 hours time.
Wardley makes a first defence of his heavyweight world title, having been elevated from interim champion in November.
The unbeaten Ipswich man halted former world champion Joseph Parker in the 11th round in his last outing in October.
Dubois looks to become a two-time heavyweight world champion having previously held the IBF crown.
The 28-year-old comes into the all-British showdown off the back of a fifth round knockout loss to Oleksandr Usyk last July.
With a 95% knockout ratio each, few expect Saturday’s bout to go the distance and a defiant Dubois has predicted a knockout victory.
“I’m going to take him out,” the 28-year-old told Sky Sports News.
“Put him to sleep, take that belt.
“I’m just going to fight how I fight and what I do is put damage and bring the pain.
“That’s all I’m going to do.
“He’s been a decent fighter, but I’m going to show there’s levels to this.

“But he’s been decent, take nothing away from him.
“You guys just watch and see. I’m going to show up.
“I’m motivated, really motivated.
“I’ve come back from being champion and I’m going for it again, so I’m really up for it.”
Wardley is equally as confident as his rival and warned him over engaging in a fire-fight with him.
“If he wants to come engage and get stuck in, with me I don’t think it’ll last long at all,” the 31-year-old told Pro Boxing Fans following Thursday’s final press conference.
“That won’t play into his favour.
“But by the sounds of it, I don’t think his team are planning on doing that.
“I think they’re trying to stay away from me.”
