Liverpool moved a step closer to achieving qualification for the Champions League as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday.
Ryan Gravenberch had put the hosts in front at Anfield, before Enzo Fernandez drew the Blues level when his free-kick evaded everyone and flew into the net.
Chelsea then thought they had taken the lead through Cole Palmer, but the goal was disallowed due to Marc Cucurella being in an offside position in the build up.
Liverpool also had a goal ruled out in the second-half, and the game ended in a draw meaning Arne Slot’s side remain fourth in the top flight standings.
Away from the action, it has emerged that the Merseyside outfit are interested in a Brazilian midfielder.
As per CaughtOffside, Liverpool and Manchester United are both monitoring Wolves’ Joao Gomes ahead of the summer transfer window.

Gomes, 25, has been one of few impressive performers this season for a Wolves side that have been in dismal form, losing 24 of their 36 matches in the league so far.
Spanish side Atletico Madrid are also said to be interested in the midfielder, who has featured 40 times so far this term.
Having joined Wolves from Brazilian side Flamengo in 2023, Gomes has now made a total of 129 appearances for the club across all competitions.
The report claims that Wolves were hoping to receive around £51 million for the Brazil international, who will hope to be part of Carlo Ancelotti’s squad for the World Cup in the United States this summer.
Due to their relegation, though, the report suggests that Wolves may have to lower their asking price to somewhere in the region of £40 million.
Gomes is under contract at Molineux until the end of the 2029/30 campaign, but it appears likely that the player will be on the move this summer.
