The May 11 episode of WWE RAW featured the aftermath of Backlash. A ton of people have been talking about Asuka’s semi-retirement. They didn’t shy away from addressing it on RAW.
Asuka and IYO Sky had a nice moment backstage on RAW this week. During that time on screen, Asuka pretty much passed the torch to IYO.
During WWE RAW this week, IYO SKY and Sol Ruca had a fun match that also sparked more discussion about Asuka. At one point during the contest, Michael Cole mentioned on commentary that Asuka’s future is “currently up in the air,” adding that nothing can be confirmed or denied right now.
Asuka and IYO Sky had a great match at Backlash, one that IYO won. After the match, they hugged in the ring, and it certainly felt like Asuka was saying goodbye. At this point, we will have to see what happens, but her status is certainly uncertain.
