- As reports swirl about London not being in contention to host WrestleMania 44 in 2028, Fightful Select brings word that WWE heading to Ireland with the Show of Shows is viewed as a “long-term project.” While there are some roadblocks in the way, Dublin’s Croke Park is a likely destination.
- While Brock Lesnar has been moved to the “Alumni” section on WWE.com, PWInsider.com is reporting that he’s still listed internally as an active performer and a free agent who is assigned to neither brand. Dave Meltzer, meanwhile, seemingly remains convinced that his WrestleMania retirement was an angle.
- Meltzer has also heard that the John Cena Classic—announced at Backlash this past Saturday—is a “work in progress.” While WWE was eager to make the announcement, when it will happen and what it’s going to look like is TBD.
- PWInsider has learned that the main “Minihausen” who partnered with Danhausen at Backlash was AAA’s Mascarita Sagrada.
- According to Cory Hays, formerly of Bodyslam.net, NXT Superstar Blake Monroe will “pop up in the mid-card title scene” when she debuts on SmackDown, suggesting we’ll see her feud with United States Champion Tiffany Stratton.
- Following an apparent “semi-retirement” at Backlash, Asuka showed up backstage at RAW last night to say goodbye to IYO SKY. Now, PWInsider has revealed that the Empress of Tomorrow is returning to Japan for an extended period due to an undisclosed family matter. Her absence is unrelated to the recent talent cuts.
- Talking on the Being The Elite Vlog, The Young Bucks’ Matt Jackson said that he and Nick were talking with Triple H in 2018 about a match with The New Day. They “thought we would be able to do it,” but for whatever reason, it never panned out.

Following recent run-ins with Danhausen, Dave Meltzer has heard that WWE is looking to work with Stephen A. Smith. “We haven’t seen anything with Stephen A. Smith yet, although, boy, has that name been talked about, and I know it’s serious talk,” he shared. “Put it this way, a lot of the people who were not happy about Pat McAfee, in fact, are favorable to Stephen A. As far as internally, it goes.”
