The May 12 episode of NXT was a big episode for fans who follow NJPW as well. Evil was once a top name in that company, but Naraku made his NXT debut tonight.
Evil’s new name in WWE is Naraku. That word roughly translates from Japanese to “hell” or “abyss,” so the new moniker is fitting. The dangerous Japanese pro wrestler is already a legend on his own, but he has yet to tackle WWE.
Lince Dorado, who used to be a main roster Superstar and is now a regular in AAA, was Naraku’s first opponent. Fans didn’t know what to expect when the former Evil stepped into the ring, but they were certainly waiting for it.
This match was utter devastation as Naraku destroyed his opponent. Lince Dorado made Naraku look like a million dollars as he sold for the former IWGP Champion. The one-sided affair was quite brutal, and Naraku even had time to toy with his opponent a bit.
In the end, Naraku scored his first win in WWE, which will likely be the first of many to come. Only time will tell if he steps into the NXT Title picture, but the company could certainly use someone who can step up to carry the brand after their roster was depleted during the recent main roster call-ups.
