NASCAR Canada 2026 Season Begins with CarGurus 200 at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park

BOWMANVILLE, ON – The NASCAR Canada Series begins its 2026 season this weekend, May 16-17, at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP) with the CarGurus 200. The event marks the first race under the new multi-year partnership between NASCAR Canada and CarGurus, joining the series as a Presenting Partner and the Official Automotive Marketplace of the NASCAR Canada Series.

Located in Bowmanville, Ontario, Canadian Tire Motorsport Park is one of Canada’s most recognized road racing facilities. The 3.957-kilometre circuit is known for its high-speed straights and technical corners.

Last May’s event at CTMP saw Marc-Antoine Camirand claim victory in the No. 96 GM Paillé Chevrolet Canada after Kyle Steckly in the No. 22 MBS Motorsports / Sierra Excavating earned the E3 Spark Plugs Pole Award. Gary Klutt finished second aboard the No. 59 Autologic / Hofman Plastics Dodge, while Malcolm Strachan recorded the first podium finish of his NASCAR Canada career with a third-place result in the No. 98 Curb Records / Strodes / Darkhorse Trailers Ford. Alex Guenette in the No. 39 GL Électricité-Automatisations Chevrolet and Louis-Philippe Dumoulin behind the No. 47 WeatherTech Canada / Groupe Bellemare / Omnifab Dodge completed the top five.

Connor Bell in the No. 3 Dymon Chevrolet earned a second-place finish during the August event at the circuit, while Sam Fellows aboard the No. 87 AER / PolySleep Chevrolet finished third after a dramatic last-lap pass. The qualifying session for last August’s WeatherTech 200 also saw a new track record as Andrew Ranger posted a lap of 1:20.915 in the No. 27 GM Paillé Chevrolet.

The 2026 season opener will also feature some drivers making their first appearances within the series. American driver, Tyler Gonzalez, is entered in the No. 38 Ford with RGR Motorsports after opening the GT4 America season with podium finishes in each race contested so far this year. William Larue will make his first NASCAR Canada road course start in the No. 45 Larue Industrial Snowblowers Chevrolet after competing only on oval tracks last season, while former Nissan Sentra Cup competitor, Sylvain Ouellet, will make his NASCAR Canada debut in the No. 73 Chevrolet with Theetge Motorsport.

On-track activities at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park will begin on Saturday with practice sessions scheduled for 12:45 p.m. ET and 2:15 p.m. ET, followed by qualifying at 5:35 p.m. ET. The green flag for Sunday’s CarGurus 200 is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. ET. Fans can watch the event live on REV TV and TVA Sports, with tape-delayed coverage available on TSN.
