Romeo Doubs has nothing but love for his former team, the Green Bay Packers.
Now with the New England Patriots, Doubs is starting a new chapter in his NFL career, and he will get a chance to face Green Bay in his first season with the Pats.
The two teams are going to lock horns in a 2026 game at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, giving Doubs an opportunity for a revenge game.
Ex-Packers WR shows love for Green Bay amid start of his Patriots journey
However, the former Nevada Wolf Pack made it clear that he’s not holding any grudges against Green Bay, saying that he’s got nothing but love for the team that welcomed him into the NFL (h/t Alex Barth of 98.5)
“Nah, man. Green Bay took care of me. It wouldn’t be a reason for me to have that type of pressure against them,” Doubs shared when asked about that matchup on Tuesday (the Patriots are slated to host the Green Bay Packers this year). “My career started there. They taught me the foundation of football, how football works, situational football, just understanding complimentary football, how teams can be – just the overall game in general. They showed me the ropes in that area. And again, I do know that we played them this year, but no, it’s not even like that.”
Doubs spent his first four seasons in the NFL with Green Bay, which took him in the fourth round as the 132nd overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. During his time in Titletown, Doubs amassed 2,424 receiving yards and 21 touchdowns on 202 catches and 320 targets across a total of 59 games.
In the offseason, he left Green Bay and signed a four-year deal worth up to $80 million with the Patriots, who just represented the AFC in the last Super Bowl.
