All eyes will be on The Etihad on Wednesday night as Manchester City host Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

Leaders Arsenal extended their advantage to five points courtesy of a 1-0 win over West Ham United on Sunday, but Pep Guardiola’s City could cut that lead to just two points if they beat the Eagles.

Arsenal know that victories in each of their next two games – against Burnley and Palace – will secure their first top flight title in more than two decades.

Mikel Arteta’s side have also reached the Champions League final, and could complete a remarkable double if they can get the better of holders Paris Saint-Germain in Budapest.

In the meantime, though, it has emerged that Arsenal have held talks with a player who is of huge interest to one of their fiercest rivals.

As per CaughtOffside, Arsenal have enquired about the availability of Sporting CP midfielder, Morten Hjulmand.

The report suggests that the Gunners asked about the Dane – along with teammates Ivan Fresneda and Ousmane Diomande – when they met Sporting in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Manchester United are also known to have an interest in the central midfielder, who has been in fine form for Sporting this term.

Hjulmand joined the Portuguese giants from Italian outfit Lecce in 2023 and has since made more than 135 appearances for his current club across all competitions.

The Denmark international’s impressive performances have attracted significant attention from both the Red Devils and the Gunners, though, and the report suggests that he could be available for a little over £50 million during the upcoming summer transfer window.

Hjulmand, 26, has more than two years remaining on his current contract in Lisbon, but it appears increasingly likely that he could leave his current club this summer.
