It sounds like the New York Giants offense under new head coach John Harbaugh will aim to be big, blue and bruising.
Giants second-year quarterback Jaxson Dart spoke about the offensive changes under Harbaugh at an event this week. He said the coach is planning to implement a more physical system that could help him excel.

“That’s the style he wants us to play at,” Dart told ESPN’s Jordan Raanan in a clip published Wednesday. “He has the right guys here for it, and I just think that’s what he wants to do is what everybody on this team wants to be about. We’re hungry to win and I couldn’t think of a better coach to play for.”
Dart certainly suits that style. He often takes off and fights for extra yards. Per Sports Info Solutions, he ranked third among QBs in rushing yards (487 in 13 games) and tied for second in rushing TDs (nine) last season.
Dart, however, must better protect himself. He was evaluated for a concussion five times last season and missed two games because of one.
The Giants shored up their offensive line in the 2026 NFL Draft, selecting Miami Hurricanes offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa with pick No. 10, to improve pass blocking for Dart. If running back Cam Skattebo and wide receiver Malik Nabers remain healthy, that would also be a big help for New York.
Skattebo rushed for 410 yards in eight games during his rookie season before suffering a season-ending right ankle injury. Nabers, meanwhile, logged 271 receiving yards in four games before tearing the ACL/meniscus in his right knee in Week 4.
“I just think we’re very versatile. I think it starts there,” Dart said. “And then the other thing is, I just can’t wait for all my boys to be back healthy. I’m excited for the pieces we’ve brought in. They’re going to help us a ton. And we’re just going to be a physical, violent team. That goes on the offensive side of the ball, defensive side of the ball and special teams.
“So, the boys and I can’t wait to get out there.”
One-time Super Bowl champion Harbaugh, of course, knows what he’s doing. The Baltimore Ravens ranked seventh in the NFL in yards per play (5.8) during the coach’s final season with the AFC North club in 2025.
The new changes could put Dart in a position to break out in 2026, helping the Giants snap their three-year playoff drought. No wonder the QB is thrilled to play for Harbaugh. The coach could make him the talk of New York.
