Is Tim Patrick going to light the world on fire for the New York Jets in 2026? At 32 years old, the chances of that happening are just slightly above zero.
In nearly 10 seasons in the NFL, Patrick has never been a superstar or even a consistently reliable target. He was an undrafted free agent in 2017 who ended up working his way onto the Denver Broncos’ practice squad. He then carved out a decent career for himself as a bottom-of-the-roster wideout.
That’s not all he’s going to be for the Jets, though. New York signed him to a one-year deal worth around $1.5 million in 2026 because he’s a veteran who has experience playing for general manager Darren Mougey and head coach Aaron Glenn.
With a wide receiver room featuring Garrett Wilson (25), Isaiah Williams (25), Adonai Mitchell (23) and first-round draft pick Omar Cooper Jr. (22), the Jets needed an experienced veteran who can help these young guns navigate the ups and downs of the NFL season.
They’re getting that in Patrick.
