Following Darby Allin’s latest successful title defense against Konosuke Takeshita on AEW Dynamite, he called Maxwell Jacob Friedman out to the ring to have a contract signing.
As he had explained last week, Allin was only willing to put the AEW World Championship on the line against Friedman if MJF agreed to a stipulation that if he were to lose, he would have his head shaved.
MJF struggled with this decision, even going so far as to give Konosuke Takeshita the Dynamite Diamond Ring to try to get him to use that on Allin to win the title so he could face Takeshita in the future instead, but eventually, MJF had no other choice but to agree.
MJF then attacked Allin to end the show and was ran off by “The Jet” Kevin Knight.
That puts the updated lineup for AEW Double or Nothing at the following card:
- Singles Match for the AEW International Championship: Kazuchika Okada (c) vs. Konosuke Takeshita
- Tag Team “I Quit” Match for the AEW World Tag Team Championship: FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) (c) (with Stokely) vs. Cage and Cope (Adam Copeland and Christian Cage) — Stipulation: If Cage and Cope lose, they must retire as a tag team
- 14-Man Stadium Stampede Match: Jericho, The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin), “Jungle” Jack Perry, and The Elite (Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson, and Nick Jackson) vs. The Demand (Ricochet, Bishop Kaun, and Toa Liona), The Don Callis Family (Mark Davis and Andrade El Idolo), and The Dogs (Clark Connors and David Finlay)
- Four-Way Match for the AEW Women’s World Championship: Thekla (c) vs. Hikaru Shida vs. Jamie Hayter vs. Kris Statlander
- Owen Hart Cup Round 1 Match: Will Ospreay vs. Samoa Joe
- Owen Hart Cup Round 1 Match: Willow Nightingale vs. Alex Windsor
