Teams, upcoming fixtures, all you need to know

The English top-flight season has reached its final stages. Here’s all the crucial info, including remaining fixtures and how to watch on TV.

The Gallagher Prem 2025-26 season has now reached its final stages, as the top teams look to cement their place in the annual play-offs.

With three rounds of the regular season still to play, 2023-24 champions Northampton Saints are in pole position, with current title holders Bath Rugby just behind them. Third-placed Leicester Tigers are breathing down their necks, just ahead of Exeter Chiefs.

Bristol Bears and Saracens are the two other sides still in with a chance of crashing the play-off party.

The top four teams will contest two semi-finals across the weekend of 13 June, with the winners going through to the highlight of England’s domestic rugby calendar – the Gallagher Prem final at Allianz Stadium Twickenham on Saturday 20 June.

At the other end of the table, Sale Sharks and Gloucester Rugby look likely to qualify for the European Champions Cup, though Harlequins are still in with a chance of returning to the continent’s premier club competition.

Newcastle Red Bulls will finish bottom for the fourth year in a row, but with the Prem now effectively ringfenced, don’t need to worry about relegation.

So, with just five weekends of action remaining and the top teams facing make-or-break ends to their campaigns, everything you need to know about the Gallagher Premiership 2025-26 season.

Gallagher Prem 2025-26 teams

Championship table-toppers Ealing Trailfinders again failed to meet the Premiership’s minimum stadium requirements. As a result, no side has been relegated from English rugby’s top flight since 2020, and the current 10-team line-up has been the same since Wasps, Worcester Warriors and London Irish went into administration.

With promotion and relegation scrapped from the end of this season, the 10 teams will be the same next year. The now-ringfenced league is inviting applications from new franchises, however, and Prem Rugby is looking to expand to 12 clubs in time for the 2029-30 season.

There has been one minor change for the upcoming season, however, as Newcastle Falcons’ purchase by a certain famous energy drink brand means they’re now known as Newcastle Red Bulls. Having finished bottom in each of the last three seasons, the team will be hoping their new benefactor really can give them wings.

This is the current line-up of Gallagher Prem teams, with their home grounds and head coaches/directors of rugby:

After dominating the league last season, Bath Rugby beat Leicester Tigers in June’s play-off final to claim their first Premiership title in 29 years.
