At Spa: Hydrogen for Fans and Research
During the second round of the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship, as motorsports showcases its efforts toward more sustainable racing and mobility on the Belgian track, hydrogen demonstrated its potential for achieving zero CO2 emissions both on the circuit and in the fan zone.
In 2026, this will be the third edition of the forum, which combines theoretical courses and practical sessions with hydrogen experts. Helping educators grasp the fundamentals of this new energy source is crucial for future generations.
Spectators at Spa-Francorchamps had the opportunity to visit the Hydrogen Village, located in the fan zone, and watched demonstrations of hydrogen-powered vehicles on the track on the Friday and Saturday.

Why Gen4 Will Change Formula E Forever

The launch of the GEN4 Formula E race car underlines a step change in electric racing performance in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. Set for its racing debut in the 2026/27 Season, the GEN4 machine reaches speeds of over 335kph and 0-200kph in 4.4 seconds, 1.5 seconds faster than the current GEN3 Evo, with a 71% increase in power in ATTACK MODE compared to its predecessor.
The GEN4 car is also more road-relevant than ever, with some of the world’s biggest automotive manufacturers (Porsche, Nissan, Jaguar, Stellantis with both Citroën and Opel, Mahindra, Lola) taking these innovations from track to road. GEN4 is not just faster, it’s a leap across generations, showing how far electric racing has come in just twelve seasons since Formula E’s inception and a declaration of the direction the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship is headed.
Why Formula E Could Become Faster than F1

Join RacingNews365’s Ian Parkes and Nick Golding for a special episode, as they are joined by Formula E CEO Jeff Dodds! The trio discuss the rapidly closing performance difference between FE and F1, with Dodds opening up on where he sees the series
going. You can watch the podcast episode above.
Flat-Out and Energy Saving: How Formula E’s Race Format Will Work in Gen4 Era
Formula E is preparing to reshape its sporting format for the start of the Gen4 era, with a combination of “performance” and “efficiency”-focused races under discussion for next season.
“Under the current format, the differences between races on a double-header weekend are relatively minor, with Pit Boost and the number of Attack Mode allocations the only strategic variables between Saturday and Sunday. But with Gen4, Formula E could bring a much bigger split between the two races, with one contest potentially placing greater emphasis on outright performance and the other on energy management.”
Formula E team Collusion Clampdown Incoming
Overt tactics and orchestrated positional changes between manufacturers and their customer teams could become a thing of the past in Formula E, as the FIA looks to regulate the practice much more heavily in the Gen4 era.
The Race can reveal that the FIA has recently notified competitors at a recent sporting working group that it is working to ensure that fixed orders between manufacturers and customers will be outlawed.
Why Citroen Team’s Status Causes so Much Paddock Unease
The latest chapter around the travails and ‘on the market’ future of the MSG company that held the licence for one of Stellantis’s two Formula E entries has shaken up the paddock like a battery-powered, multi-kilowatt snow globe. The Race explains why.
Extreme H Returns to Qiddiya City

Extreme H has announced the official dates for the second installment of the FIA Extreme H World Cup. Returning to Qiddiya City in Saudi Arabia, the race will run from 29 to 31 October 2026.

Why Formula 2 Won’t Go Hybrid
Formula 2 will not adopt hybrid technology for its next-generation car. Bruno Michel, the championship’s CEO, confirmed this at a media session in Miami during the Formula 1 Grand Prix weekend. The 2027 car will receive an aerodynamic update rather than an entirely new design, and it will continue to run on a conventional turbocharged engine.
