Ghana international Antoine Semenyo emerged as the hero for Manchester City as they edged Chelsea to secure the 2025/26 English FA Cup title.

The Black Stars attacker played a decisive role as his outfit claimed a narrow 1-0 victory over Chelsea at Wembley Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Semenyo, who joined the Sky Blues during the winter transfer window, started and played the full duration of the match as his outfit annexed the prestigious title.

The first half ended in a pulsating goalless draw, with both teams struggling to find the back of the net in a highly competitive contest.

However, the former Bournemouth star rose to the occasion in the second half, firing home the decisive winner in the 72nd minute to hand his side the trophy.

Since joining Manchester City in January, the enterprising Ghana forward has now secured two titles, having previously lifted the Carabao Cup.

Semenyo and his Manchester City teammates will now turn their attention to the Premier League title race, with two games remaining in the campaign. Having already bagged two domestic trophies, the Ghana international will be hoping to help City edge Arsenal to complete a treble this season.

The 25-year-old enjoyed a sensational first half of the campaign with Bournemouth before sealing a high-profile move to the Etihad Stadium during the winter transfer window.

His outstanding performances have not gone unnoticed, earning him a place on the Premier League Player of the Season shortlist. Across all competitions this season, Semenyo has registered 17 goals and provided four assists.
