In Match 60 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 between the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Gujarat Titans (GT), Finn Allen smashed a whirlwind 93-run knock at Eden Gardens to power his team to a massive total of 247 in the allotted 20 overs.

Although Allen had a cautious start, scoring just four runs off three balls in the first two overs, and came dangerously close to being dismissed by Mohammed Siraj when the ball passed inches over the bails, he eventually found his rhythm against the very same bowler. Allen smashed two consecutive boundaries in Siraj’s over.

Then came Kagiso Rabada, and Allen left GT astonished as he smashed successive sixes against the side’s premier bowler. By the fourth over, he had raced to 29 runs off just 12 balls. Although he struggled briefly in the sixth over, scoring just one run off three balls (including a wide), he went on to smash two consecutive sixes off Rashid Khan in the eighth over. In the same over, he struck a four to bring up his half-century in just 21 balls. He looked well set and made the most of the ideal batting conditions. Even the in-form Jason Holder was not spared, with the KKR opener smashing two sixes in his over.

The dynamic batter fell just seven runs short of what would have been his second century of the season. However, his momentum was halted in the 11.2nd over when he was dismissed by Sai Kishore and caught by Rashid. Kishore changed his angle as Allen attempted to clear his front leg and heave him over the ropes, but he failed to time the ball properly.

Allen top-scored for his side in Kolkata. Angkrish Raghuvanshi also starred with the bat, scoring an unbeaten 82, while Cameron Green played a breezy unbeaten knock of 52.
