With MVP MMA’s debut still to come, it’s safe to say that Most Valuable Promotions, led by Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian, has already made a splash in the MMA space.
That has led to early talk of what their second, and future, cards will look like. MVP Co-Founder Bidarian addressed that ahead of Saturday’s Rousey vs. Carano event, speaking with Cageside Press and other media outlets this week.
“I will say this: multiple athletes on this card alone that could headline their own card, that is good as anything as any other promoter in the world is doing,” Bidarian said of moving forward into future MMA cards. “And then we have a few tricks up our sleeves called Jake Paul, who wants to do MMA as well, and that will happen sometime in 2027-2028, and then we’ll break some more records.”
Paul doesn’t seem to be done with boxing just yet, however, as Bidarian suggested he was targeting a return at the end of the year. While Paul has suggested his broken jaw, suffered in a lopsided boxing match against Anthony Joshua, could spell the end of his career, Bidarian noted that “I think he’s being brutally honest about something that every fighter has to go through if you break a bone or a jaw. So he has to get back in the ring and get hit in the face, and hopefully it stays together.”
Bidarian also spoke with Cageside Press about what it has been like to work with Ronda Rousey to put together Netflix’s MMA debut. Rousey has said she wants to put herself in a position similar to Dana White moving forward, working on the promotion side.
“Ronda’s been incredible. The past two and a half, three months with her have been eye opening in terms of her, not just what she does on camera but the attention to detail, the passion for the sport, the passion for giving fans the best thing possible. I think it’s shameful how fans turned her backs on her because of how she dealt with her loss. She was a 28-year old woman, 27 I think when she lost to Holly. What did you expect?”
“Her whole world shattered. Yeah she took it hard, she came back when she probably didn’t want to [against Amanda Nunes]. And I think this is probably the best version of Ronda Rousey so far, of course inside the cage, but outside the cage.”
MVP MMA: Rousey vs. Carano takes place Saturday, May 16, 2026 at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, CA.
