Blue Jays: Eddie Micheletti Jr. trending upward as he hits sixth home run of the season

Eddie Micheletti Jr. remains as one of the more under-the-radar type prospects in the Toronto Blue Jays system.

In the Double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats’ 2-0 victory over the Reading Fightin’ Phils in the first game of the doubleheader, the outfielder hit his sixth home run of the season. Those six home runs are tied for the fourth-most alongside Josh Rivera, Charles McAdoo, and Yorman Licourt.

Entering the 2024 draft, the outfielder was an unheralded prospect, slashing .311/.464/.599 with 12 home runs in 240 plate appearances with Virginia Tech. The Blue Jays came calling in the eighth round, selecting the outfielder and signing him to a bonus of $147,500.

Since then, Micheletti Jr has been one of their best hitting prospects in the system. In 2024, he finished the season slashing .292/.422/.458 with two home runs in 90 plate appearances with the Single-A Dunedin Blue Jays. He followed that up with 14 home runs in 464 plate appearances with the High-A Vancouver Canadians in 2025, slashing .228/.375/.418.

So far this season, he now has six home runs, slashing .238/.363/.443 in 146 plate appearances, good for a 113 wRC+. His 18.5 K% is currently the highest of his career, but he’s always had a walk rate of 14% or higher.
