Hasaacas Ladies claimed the 2025/26 Women’s FA Cup title after defeating Army Ladies 5-3 on penalties in a thrilling final played on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at the Kukurantumi Ohene Park.

The fiercely contested encounter ended 1-1 after extra time before the Sekondi-based club held their composure in the shootout to secure their second Women’s FA Cup trophy and add another chapter to their growing legacy in Ghana women’s football.

Coming into the final, Hasaacas Ladies carried a slight psychological advantage, having beaten Army Ladies twice in the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League season with identical 1-0 scorelines. Their road to the final also reflected their dominance, following a commanding 3-0 semi-final victory over Jonina Ladies after earlier eliminating Ampem Darkoa Ladies in the quarterfinals.

Army Ladies also entered the showdown full of confidence after dismantling Samartex Ladies 5-1 in the semifinals. The 2023/24 FA Cup champions were hoping to lift the trophy for the second time in three seasons and showed resilience throughout the competition.

Despite the tension and intensity of the final, both sides struggled to break each other down for large periods of the game. Hasaacas Ladies finally found the breakthrough in the 87th minute when Linda Epo calmly slotted home to put her side ahead.

Just when it appeared Hasaacas were heading for victory, Army Ladies responded almost immediately. Esther Asamoah Yiadom struck a late equalizer two minutes later to send the game into extra time and keep Army’s hopes alive.

Neither side could find the decisive goal during extra time as fatigue and caution began to set in, forcing the final into a dramatic penalty shootout.

Hasaacas Ladies showed nerves of steel from the spot, converting all five penalties, while Army Ladies scored three, handing Hasaacas a deserved 5-3 shootout triumph.

The victory marks Hasaacas Ladies’ second Women’s FA Cup title after first winning the competition during the 2020/21 season as part of their historic domestic double campaign. Their latest success further strengthens their reputation as one of the dominant clubs in Ghana women’s football.

Following the final, several individual awards were presented to outstanding performers from the season. Rootz Sistaz midfielder Belinda Kpentey was named Discovery of the Season, while Army Ladies forward Esther Asamoah Yiadom and Ampem Darkoa Ladies striker Patience Ajegipina Zakaria finished as joint Top Scorers of the Season. Hasaacas Ladies also walked away with the Goalkeeper of the Season award.
