In story, Jon Moxley was responsible for the injury that put Kyle O’Reilly on the AEW sidelines for months. That beating came after O’Reilly made his own singles record against Mox to 2-1-1 while extending the former World champ’s pre-Continental Classic losing streak.
So after Conglomerator business was out of the way, Kool Kyle turned his attention to the lead Death Rider. That earned him a Continental Title Eliminator match against Moxley on Dynamite tonight (May 20).
It was an evenly matched affair for 19+ minutes. It might have ended the way their Full Gear encounter did with more time. But Continental Title Eliminators have a 20 minute time limit.
So O’Reilly didn’t get a win, but he did earn a future title shot. And he wants it this Sunday on PPV — and like Mox’s defense against Konosuke Takeshita at March’s Revolution PPV, KOR’s Double or Nothing match for the Continental belt.
Mox responded from the Rider’s mobile dojo before Will Ospreay’s match, and more or less said “just bring it”.
The card for Double or Nothing on Sunday in Queens, New York now looks like so…
