Baron Corbin may be getting closer to a WWE return, and now there’s reportedly support for him internally within the locker room as well.
After Dave Meltzer stated on Wrestling Observer Radio last week that Corbin’s WWE comeback had been “heavily talked about” behind the scenes, a new update from WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select adds even more fuel to the speculation.
According to the report, multiple WWE sources referred to Corbin as a “locker room favorite” and indicated they would like to see him return to the company.
The update also stated that WWE sources believe Corbin is ultimately headed back to WWE, especially now that he has reportedly wrapped up his commitments with Major League Wrestling.
Since leaving WWE in late 2024, Corbin has rebuilt momentum outside the company through independent appearances and his MLW run alongside Donovan Dijak as The Skyscrapers. Despite mixed reactions throughout parts of his WWE career, Corbin was long viewed internally as a reliable performer capable of filling multiple roles on television.
The latest update follows speculation from Dave Meltzer that recent Danhausen teases on SmackDown could potentially be connected to Corbin’s return. While Meltzer stressed that portion was purely his own theory, he made it clear WWE has absolutely been discussing bringing Corbin back.
“On the SmackDown show, when Danhausen was talking about something bigger, my gut was that that’s who it is. That’s just my speculation, but I just know that he’s been talked with about being brought in.”
Meltzer also added that the return could already be finalized even if he had not personally received confirmation that a deal was officially completed.
“It might even be done, but I haven’t had it officially confirmed to me it’s done. But I have 100% confirmed that it’s been heavily talked about.”
With WWE reportedly testing larger roster depth again through expanded house show touring and Corbin now apparently finished with outside obligations, the timing certainly lines up for a possible comeback sooner rather than later.
